Elizabeth Gilbert, author of NY Time Best Sellers Eat, Pray, Love: One Women's Search for Everything across Italy, India and Indonesia and Committed: A Skeptic Makes Peace With Marriage, will be the Frederick Reads featured author for 2010. Eat, Pray, Love has been translated into 30-plus languages with more than 7-million copies sold world-wide. The relatable book has become so popular that in late summer of 2010, readers and fans will be able to see Gilbert's work on the big screen, in a film starring Julia Roberts.
Her visit to the Frederick area will include stops at Hood College, Frederick Community College, and the
Weinberg Center. With the exception of the Meet the Author Fundraiser, all other events are free and open to the public- seating is limited.
Wednesday April 14, 2010:
- 5 p.m. Hood College Hodson Auditorium
Elizabeth Gilbert's appearance at this year's Frederick Reads is made possible in large part by Hood College and the Hanson Lecture Series by way of The Robert D. and Barbara E. Hanson Fund for The Foundation for Enhancing Communities. Seating is by ticket only. Preference will be given to members of the Hood community. Please check Hood's Web site after April 1 for further ticket information.
Thursday April 15, 2010:

- 3 p.m. Meet the Author Fundraiser--Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center ($$$)
Tickets are $75 each and include a reception with Elizabeth Gilbert at the Delaplaine, a signed copy of Eat, Pray, Love, and preferred seating for Gilbert's appearance at the Weinberg. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase through the Weinberg Box Office starting February 5, 2010.
PHONE ORDERS: All phone orders require a $5.00 additional Fee; this is for the whole order (not per ticket).
INTERNET ORDERS: Tickets.com (our parent ticketing company) requires a $5.00 Processing fee per Order AND an additional charge of $4.50 per Ticket ordered. This per Ticket Fee is based upon the average value of the Tickets being sold and therefore is beyond our control.
WALK-UPS: Purchasing tickets directly from the Weinberg Center Box Office located at 20 W. Patrick Street will NOT require any additional fees.

An interview with Gilbert and the New York Public Library's Paul Holdengraber. Paul has been responsible for hundreds of LIVE from the NYPL events, all open to the public. His programs have become known nationwide for providing a forum in which audiences can engage with some of the world's most influential public figures, including writers, historians, artists, and politicians.
